この規格は，主として自動車に用いる六価クロムフリー亜鉛めっきを施したとが り先十字穴付き小ねじ（以下，小ねじという。）について規定する。

備考1. この小ねじは，溶接ナット，ホルダナット等と併用して，穴探りを容易にする場合あるいはくい込み により位置決めを行う必要がある場合に限って適用する。 　　

2. この規格の中で用いる単位及び数値は国際単位系（ＳＩ）による｛　　｝で示してある単位及び数値 は，従来単位によるもので参考として併記したものである。

This standard covers cross-recessed head machine screws with cone point coated with zinc plating free from hexavalent chromium (hereinafter referred to as "machine screw") for general automotive uses.

Remarks 1. The machine screws specified herein shall be used in combination with weld nuts or holder nuts only where feeling holes or positioning by screw engagement is necessary.
